A space survival open world terraforming crafting game. Transform the ecosystem of a hostile planet to make it livable for humans. Survive, collect, build your base then create oxygen, heat and pressure to make a brand new biosphere.Wow what a game 🙂 I come across Planet Crafter a few weeks ago and have already invested 31 hours, for a fair price the game had me hooked longer then a AAA studio game. The amount of things to do and see is fantastic and it all keeps you wanting more , even the way the game changes with advancement of environment is superb, just seeing a blue sky for the first time is hope and comfort. Yes I would recommend this game with a big thumbs up. At times it feels like a Cookie Clicker, as you build oxygen generator T1, increase the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere which unlocks oxygen generator T2, which produces more oxygen, and so on. I love how the world changes, grass appears, climb-able vines, new collectable flowers or insects. The game is a bit grindy, but I can see that there are already improvements for that on the development branch. Nice one. Dev states that it’s late alpha, but the balance and atmosphere are great already. Early game is a bit rough, but hey, at least it fits the lore! The game constantly shows you that it could do more if it was simply more complete, but you’ll never really care since it’s doing a great job already. One thing I have to absolutely commend is the general atmosphere of the game. If you’re a bit insane, I would recommend trying the hardcore mode where it’s over when you die, the game gets a nice lonely feel then. Just remember to pack your snacks when going out.
Fantastic sci-fi survival and exploration game. Terraforming the planet feels amazing and you will always find new things to do and discover. As you progress, you expand your terraforming and survival capabilities with new technologies, which encourages you to explore the mysterious planet, and you benefit from both activities. It feels like you’re constantly accomplishing new tech milestones and acquiring better tools for exploration, and it turn new exploration discoveries help you move forward in terraforming and expanding your base. It’s a fantastic gameplay loop, and the result of your efforts become very apparent real soon across the entire planet. The planet itself is full of different vistas and biomes that are a wonder to discover. Just when I thought I’d seen most of it, it managed to surprise me again and again with hidden areas and landscapes that blew my mind and urged me to explore more and more. The interface is such a breeze to use, it’s so simple and easy to use that you’ll wonder why other games don’t have such an intuitive and elegant UI. All the devices and containers you interact with have few basic interactions, and that’s all you ever need. No complicated key combinations or stack management here. What you see is what you get, and it’s a joy to manage your resources. It also doesn’t need a lot of words to let you understand what does what, There’s also a decent story told in snippets about why you’re there and what the history of the planet is. It’s a mystery that gets slowly revealed as you progress, and apparently it will get even more interesting with the coming updates. Without a doubt one of the best single player experiences of the year. And it keeps getting even better with each new update. Looking forward to all the new things the devs are adding in the future.
